ASA Platinum Supplier Partner Spotlight: GE Appliances Air & Water Solutions

Over the past few years, supply chain issues because of the pandemic have thrown a wrench in the plans of distributors large and small.

Considering this, many may have been surprised when GE Appliances, a Haier company, unveiled Air & Water Solutions, offering residential and light commercial water heaters, water filtration, HVAC and ductless heating and cooling products. However, it fits perfectly with our company’s strategy focused on investing more than $2 billion over the last five years in our U.S. operations. Our dedicated Air & Water Solutions team is set on becoming the supplier of choice for mid-size HVAC and plumbing distributors.

Air & Water Solutions positioned itself to better serve customers in this industry. Backed by the resources and reputation of GE Appliances, we have already dedicated more than $100 million to the category, investing in training and nearly 300,000 square feet of new manufacturing space.

However, being new to an industry steeped in tradition, we knew one organization would be a key partner in success.

Decades ago, the American Supply Association established itself as the respected authority serving and connecting wholesaler-distributors and their supply chain partners in the plumbing-heating-cooling-piping (PHCP) industry. The industry’s best come together within the ASA network. ASA provides its members with resources for education and training, research and development, and ample opportunities to connect. GE Appliances Air & Water Solutions recognized that this com-mitment mirrored our own, and we couldn’t wait to partner together.

Many of you have likely met us on a tradeshow floor or at ASA’s NETWORK conference in 2021. Industry travel is making an exciting comeback, allowing our team to showcase new product innovations and meet with like-minded professionals.

Education

For example, our SmartHQ technology integrates products with consumers’ increasingly automated and digitized world. Consolidating a whole home of appliances, water heating, water treatment and heating/cooling systems in one central, digital location — the SmartHQ platform — offers professionals more line of sight into how these products work. It shows them how to reduce utility costs and identifies mechanical challenges or potential product failures before they occur.
