Next Gen All Star: Josh Golgowski

Age: 39

Company: APR Supply

Title: Regional Branch Manager

How long have you been in the PHCP-PVF industry?

Will be 10 years next year.

What drew you into the industry?

The people at APR Supply. I grew up in the town where the company started, knew the family. In the interview process our EVP Dave Robinson made a big impression.

What is the most rewarding aspect of working in the industry?

It’s an honest, down-to-earth business selling products people need, and you have to be pretty smart to be profitable. I like that challenge.

What motivates you every day?

I’m competitive.

What is one thing you wish more people knew/understood about the PHCP-PVF industry?

The big challenge recently has been regulatory change. I wish lawmakers better understood the impact of their decisions on our industry and the average family.

What has been your proudest moment in your career so far?

We recently transformed our distribution center operation, moving into a new building and implementing new warehouse management software. There were some moments of real crisis. I spent a number of months away from my normal job working on the transition. Overcoming those challenges was the most rewarding time in my career.

What is one thing most people don’t know about you?

I’ve caught more fish than you. I also got 1st Place Regional Chorus Bass I in 2001 and went to states.

“Josh joined APR Supply Co. in 2014 through our Leadership Training Program (LEAD), was promoted to Location Manager of our Upper Darby branch location in May 2017, and was subsequently promoted to Regional Branch Manager in 2020, now leading six of APR's 42 locations. Josh is active in the community and also within our industry. He has served on the Hardi Young Executives, attended the ASA Master of Distribution Management program, as well as the University of Innovative Distribution. He has also served on his local School Board and was Chairman of his County's Young Republicans organization. While he has only been in the plumbing industry for just shy of 10 years, he has risen to an important role within the APR organization.”
