How long have you been in the PHCP-PVF industry?

Coming up on the seven-year mark.

What drew you into the industry?

It was truly a “right place, right time” moment. I was attending an event at a supply house in my former role, and my natural curiosity and outgoing personality sparked a conversation with Rep Paul Grothaus, who is someone today I really look up to. Basic networking, we exchanged information, and a week later, he called about an opportunity I almost didn’t take. At the time, I was young and didn’t fully understand how deep and important this industry is. A supply house owner I trusted told me I’d be crazy not to at least go in and have a conversation with them. I ended up spending two hours with our former president, Stew Chaffee, who took a chance on me — and I owe much of my success to him. That chance meeting changed my life.

What is the most rewarding aspect of working in the industry?

For me, it’s all about the relationships. I’ve had the privilege of meeting incredible people, learning their needs, and being the one they can count on to solve problems and deliver solutions. As a female tool rep in a male-dominated industry, there are unique challenges — but I thrive on those challenges. I’ve found that hard work, knowledge, and genuine connection always earn respect.

What motivates you every day?

My family — my three sons, Julian, Ryan, and Bryson, and of course my husband, Ryan — are my “why.” They’re the reason I push myself every single day. They inspire me to keep setting the bar higher.

What is one thing you wish more people knew/understood about the PHCP-PVF industry?

This industry is the backbone of so much we depend on every day, yet many people don’t realize just how critical it is. While it is still male-dominated, there is tremendous opportunity for women here. With the right mindset and work ethic, there’s no limit to how far you can go.

What has been your proudest moment in your career so far?

One of my proudest moments was when our agency was named Milwaukee Tool’s Agency of the Year. It was a team victory through and through — the result of everyone’s hard work, dedication, and collaboration. But what made it unforgettable was when my team each took the time to acknowledge and thank me personally, saying my contributions played a key role in the win. That recognition from the people I respect most meant the world to me.

What is one thing most people don’t know about you?

I had a tough childhood and was a troubled youth, which ultimately led me to becoming a mom at 16. Many people didn’t believe I’d finish school or make it very far, let alone build a successful career. Today, I’m proud to say I’ve proven them wrong — and I use that experience to show others that where you start doesn’t define where you can go.
